However, for most of the time, their actions are civil and the Ambassador takes care of anything that needs to be addressed with Governor Barimen. The relationship between elves and humans is tense, each regard each other with disrespect. The elves in Akenash tend to the tree and source the Amber for the humans. History of Elves in Styx: Master of Shadows The image shows elf figures standing around the Heart of the Tree, with their hands raised as if praying or praising the Heart. The only hint at some form of religion and worshipping is the sequence in which Styx (The Original) speaks about the human loss when they tried to extract Amber by themselves. They are capable of listening to anyone's thoughts who has consumed Amber.Īmber also allows the elves to conjure an elf spirit known as the Doomed, that possess a limited form of omniscience, being able to detect creatures within a certain radius of them and attack them. They can speak, but appear to prefer using telepathy if possible. The Amber allows all elves to share a communal, telepathic hive mind. While only Styx is seen consuming Amber (as an Amber creature himself), one can assume that the elves, too, consume it in some shape or form.

The elves are Amber creatures and do not suffer any injury when handling the substance, unlike the humans. They also may be reusable for grown Elves to be used as rejuvenation opportunity, given that Styx did the very same thing. Some of the human scientists working in the tower refer to them as 'embryos'.

They can be seen to contain a human like figure resting inside. They have 'cocoons', large receptacles growing from the roots of the World Tree. The Elf Ambassador even wonders how Styx can prefer privacy and loneliness so much, where one has to be alone in their heads all the time. The consumption of Amber allows individuals to connect telepathically and so all the elves can constantly communicate with each other. They elves live around the World Tree and are constantly in contact with the tree's sap, Amber. We do not see any female elves in this game (possibly due to production restrictions).

The iris of their eyes glows golden and sometimes their skin might even appear to be translucent. The elves inside the Tower of Akenash are very pale and a good 2 heads taller than the humans.They use facial tattoos (temporary or lasting), and wear their hair often in buns or otherwise tied up behind their head. Elves have evolved from humans, due to voluntary exposure to Amber.
